Coolamon

Coolamons are traditional carrying vessels used by Australia’s First Nations People. It is a multi-purpose shallow dish with curved sides, traditionally used by Aboriginal women to carry water, fruits, nuts and to cradle babies. They were carried on the head when traveling any distance, or under the arm, if used as a cradle.

Memories of Australia works directly with member of the Australian Indigenous community to source these products. These coolamons are made from black wattle – an Australian Hardwood timber

Australian Authentic Dreamtime Art feature products that are painted by genuine Aboriginal Artists, each with their own individual style and story.
