Description

Hunting or killer boomerangs are designed to travel in a straight line and are not made to return to the thrower. These boomerangs are generally larger and heavier than returning boomerangs. They were traditionally used for hunting birds and animals but were used for more than just hunting game. It could also be used to create fire, as a digging implement, and even as a musical instrument. At a corroboree, this boomerang would be used with another one, “clapping” them together to accompany song and dance.

Memories of Australia works directly with member of the Australian Indigenous community to source these products. These boomerangs are made from black wattle – an Australian Hardwood timber
