Emu Caller Hand Painted

$90.00 *ex GST

Description

Our emu callers are traditionally handcrafted from Box and Grey Box hardwoods, two dense and durable native Australian timbers known for their strength, beautiful grain, and rich acoustic properties. Each caller is approximately 30 cm long and is shaped to produce a deep, throaty call that mimics the sound of the Australian emu.

Used in traditional practices for hunting and communication, emu callers work by amplifying low-frequency vibrations when gently struck or blown into, creating a sound that resembles an emu’s distinctive booming call. These are not only functional sound instruments but also unique cultural conversation pieces.

We offer both natural timber finishes and hand-painted designs featuring authentic Aboriginal artwork, making each emu caller a beautiful and meaningful gift or collectible.

Perfect for educational use, cultural display, or hands-on demonstration, our emu callers are a tribute to traditional knowledge, skilled craftsmanship, and the natural beauty of Australian hardwood.

At Memories of Australia, we are proud to work directly alongside members of the Indigenous community to create authentic, culturally meaningful products. Supporting Indigenous Australians is at the core of our mission — from sourcing materials to artistic collaboration — ensuring that traditional knowledge, culture, and livelihoods are respected and sustained. Every product reflects this commitment to partnership, empowerment, and celebrating Indigenous heritage.
